Three reasons people remortgage
Whichever one sounds like you, the first step is the same: a free call, so we can look at where you stand.
-
deal ending
Your fixed rate is ending
When a fixed or tracker deal ends, most lenders move you onto their standard variable rate, which is usually higher. Your monthly payment can jump. We look for your next deal before that happens.
-
a new deal
You want a better deal
We look at what other lenders could offer as well as a new deal from your current lender, called a product transfer. If staying put is the most suitable option and you don't need to borrow more, there's no charge for this.
-
debts
You want to bring your debts together
Some people borrow more on their mortgage to pay off loans, cards or car finance, so there's one monthly payment. It can cost you more overall, because the debt is spread over a longer time, so we go through it with you first.
Think carefully before securing other debts against your home.
How we help when you remortgage
The sooner we talk, the more time we have to find your next deal before the current one runs out.
-
We start early
Many lenders let you secure a new deal months before your current one ends. Starting early means you don't drop onto the lender's standard variable rate.
-
We look beyond your lender
We compare what other lenders could offer you with a new deal from the lender you already have, and tell you honestly which suits you better.
-
No charge for a simple switch
If the most suitable option is a new deal with your current lender, and you don't need to borrow more, there's no charge for our help.
Prior to Andy, I was told that because of my husband's age, a remortgage was impossible. I had tried various avenues and most organisations were telling me to sell. But not Andy. Because of him, I've been able to keep my home of over 20 years.

Questions we get asked
Around three to six months before your deal ends. Many lenders let you secure a new rate that far ahead, so you're not left on the standard variable rate.
A new deal with the lender you already have, usually with less paperwork. If it's the most suitable option for you and you don't need to borrow more, there's no charge for our help.
You may be able to borrow more on your mortgage to pay off loans, cards or car finance. Your monthly payments could go down, but you may pay more in total, because the debt is paid back over a longer time. Think carefully before securing other debts against your home.
The first call is free. There's no charge for a product transfer with your current lender when that's the most suitable option and you aren't borrowing more. For other remortgages there may be a fee for mortgage advice. The exact amount depends upon your circumstances, but will range from £495 to £995, and this will be discussed and agreed with you at the earliest opportunity. You may also have to pay an early repayment charge to your existing lender if you remortgage.
